Plantar Warts - Causes, Symptoms & Treatment

Plantar Warts are the most common infection of the skin and it is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Plantar warts may cause pain and particularly when walking. Public shower or walking around the locker room in your bare feet after a workout increases your risk for developing plantar warts Plantar warts often grow into the deeper layers of skin because of the pressure they receive because of their location. They tend to be found in areas of pressure such as the heel and ball of the foot. Body through tiny cuts and breaks in your skin. Plantar warts often develop beneath pressure points in your feet, such as the heels or balls of your feet.

Most plantar warts aren't a serious health concern, but they may be bothersome or painful, and they can be resistant to treatment. They may spread to other sites. It is occurs through breaks in the surface of the outer layer of skin called the epidermis. Such exposure is frequently associated with public shower rooms or walking barefoot on dirty surfaces or littered ground where the virus is lurking.

  • The CO 2 laser is the most effective method for treating warts, but it is also the most expensive method.
  • Use foot powders and change your socks frequently to keep the feet dry.
  • Avoid scarring or damaging other tissues.
